There is a commitment from all members to support the club through fundraising activities throughout the year. The club hosts the annual Ski Swap November 4, 2006, sell raffle tickets and members are required to work bingos in Hinton (number depends on the number of ski team athletes, but last year Nancy Greene families worked 4 bingos throughout the year and KI/K2 families worked 11). Our fundraising is crucial to the survival of the club, and enables us to keep costs down.

* In addition to the program fees, Alberta Alpine charges each racer a fee of $35.00 that covers membership and insurance for training and races (kids also receive a subscription to Ski Canada and Ski Racing Magazines).

Our "Training to Train" program is for 11-14 year old athletes with an emphasis on learning sport specific mental and physical skills, racing development, and fun in a team based atmosphere. They also have an opportunity to test their skills against peers at the provincial level. The program runs both Saturday and Sundays during the ski season as well as Christmas and Easter camps. Races are scheduled throughout the season and require the athlete to travel (generally Friday-Sunday).

This fast track program is designed for children 6-10 years old. The program introduces children to basic ski techniques and skills, basic safety rules, and teamwork. Our coaches work on the development of skiing in a fun and motivating atmosphere, which will foster a lifelong love of alpine skiing. The Nancy Greene League also introduces kids to competition with individual progress, team results, camaraderie and fair play. This program is offered on Sundays (with the option to train on Saturdays as well), beginning early January and runs 13 weeks into the third week of March. The club usually travels to one out of town race, and participate in the Jasper Junior Olympics during the season, and these race days are considered part of the training program.
