Race at Edmonton Ski Club 2008

Location: Edmonton Ski Club, 9613-96th Avenue

Parking: North end of the Muttart Conservatory

Entry Fee: $30.00 (includes lift ticket, lunch and a picture with Thomas Grandi)

Bib Pickup: 7:30 AM

Coach's Meeting: 8:15 AM

Course Inspection: 8:30 AM

Volunteers Meeting: 8:30 AM

Race Start: Race Start 9:30 AM (First and second run will be back to back)

Lunch: 11:00 AM  (approx)

Awards: 1:30 PM  (approx)

With 300 racers registered for the race it is a very ambitious undertaking by the Edmonton Ski Club and they need volunteers.  If you are registered for the race I will put you down as a volunteer.  I will forward the list to everyone.

Hi everyone,

Everyone is expected to drive up on their own, Saturday in Edmonton. I'm assuming everyone got their hotel reservation from Laurie Buck. We are staying at the Coast Plaza 10155-105 Street downtown...it is just off Jasper Ave at 105 St. For Sunday morning breakfast, they have a Cafe that opens at 6:30am and they have a full breakfast buffet: $5.95 for kids and $12.95 for adults. They're aware we're coming so they'll be ready for us.

Now, the following info is VERY important:

1-Everyone must get their own wake-up call, at 6:15am

2-Everyone go down for breakfast right at 6:30am (unless you brought your own breakfast)

3-Everyone pack their stuff and check-out at 7:15am

4-Everyone load their stuff in their cars at 7:30am

5-We all going to convoy and leave the hotel at 7:45am

6- We arrive at Edmonton Ski Club at 8:00am

It is crucial that everyone respect this time frame, speaking of experience, because with 27 families, we don't want anyone to be late or to get lost. I will have a package at the front desk for everyone to remind you of all this, and a map on how to get to the ski hill from the hotel.

Once at the ski hill, we will have tables reserve for our club. Please keep all the kids in one spot. We will give them their bibs and passes. Then, all coaches will have a quick 10 minute meeting at 8:45am. We will start going up the lift with the kids at 9:00am

You do not need to bring your skis. You'll be able to watch from the bottom. It's a tiny little ski hill!

I am assuming everyone got the "Race Notice" from Dave Turcot...if not, let me know.

One more thing....we need at least 5 volunteer to help out on the race course. Please rise your hand by replying to Dave Turcot.
